GY ENDGAME POST
GRAVEYARD - END GAME
It's been a long stay.
Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.
But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.
Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.
Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.
Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.
[Welcome to the Graveyard's Endgame post! The previous posts for Weeks 2-5 and Weeks 6-7 have been linked above.]

[ Is Nageki reading his note or finally using his one license to drop the f-bomb? That is the question. ]
I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it sure wasn't...more bugs.

[Jack this isn't funny. Though, it's less of an amused laugh (though there is some of that), and more of a wow-this-random-fairy-I-knew-for-five-days-suddenly-turned-into-a-murder-caterpillar-and-now-I-am-on-a-horse-and-what-the-fuck-are-we-doing laugh! There's a little bewilderment in it. Kind of rueful.]
Shall we strategize? It doesn't seem as though she's giving chase for the time being, but I think we can guess at her plans.

[ Jack is going to get some harsh glaring... ]
What are our options?

[She reaches out - if he allows it, she will place a hand on his shoulder, giving it a brief, light squeeze.]
This isn't exactly what we had in mind, but we trained for this, remember? We have combatants. If you need to, you know a few things about fighting to protect yourself long enough to escape.
I promise you, I will protect you this time. All of you will make it out of this.

We'll get through this. I know we will. It's a lot, even I feel overwhelmed... and I don't like burdening people. Especially people I care about. But it's okay to lean on others.
[ He holds his fist out... ]
So.... lean on us. I know we can do this.

You'll have your chance, Miss Asahina. We're almost there.

I don't suppose any of you have a spare weapon I could borrow? I am, at the moment, unequipped to deal with the current threat in any capacity.

[He has no idea what Junko's main weapon is, but he's better with a sword, truthfully... Can't believe yoloing a scythe is useful too. What the fuck.]

ONE LAST CATHERD FOR THE ROAD, MAYBE
objective: eliminate ferry, prevent ferry from obtaining final crystal
plan of attack:
1. c-ta and rika to lead a team to the cellar of the general store to stock up on weapons and any other materials that would be useful
2. a team of scouts on horseback to keep an eye on the store, try and sus out ferry's location, ideally without her knowing
3. on the off chance that ferry discovers where we are, to get her away from the store so that the raid team has enough time to regroup/redistribute weapons. lead ferry to ice maze area due to discomfort with cold/water, use terrain to advantage with snowballs/ice magic if necessary, long range weapon users to help to attack from afar. Possible use of the pumpkin carriage etc. for further distractions
4. final confrontation at the rift in the geletaria? "then seek comfort in pitch dark" - rift does not respond to physical attacks but magic? ]
... It's a plan that is extremely rough around the edges, but at the very least we have some idea of what to do if we can't attack directly.
Jack and I are probably the fastest on horseback, so if there are any changes in the plan, we will disseminate information accordingly. If anyone has any suggestions to refine this, voice them now and we can incorporate them into the plan of action.
Let Yuuta and Rika know what you need from the cellar so that they can keep a look out, they're the most familiar with it.

[ he nods. ]
If we can take bags from the general store, we'll probably be able to stock up quicker.

Unless ya'd rather we station ourselves near any noncombatants, ta protect them too?
no subject
... Admittedly, I know very little about the rift, so I will have to leave that part of the plan to others.
And it will be best to focus our plan going forward on both attack and defense -- above all, we do not want her to get that last crystal.

Scouting party back!!
She's in the palace. Deep inside, I think - Yor and I saw the sparkles outside and leading into the building but I don't think we saw her at all.
[ a pause, and: ] I suspect the palace is one of her strongholds, so we might have to lure her out into the open with the prospects of getting the last crystal, even if we have no intention of handing it over to her.

shop raid!!
What they're looking for:
- arrows
- magic orbs of all kinds
- daggers
- swords
- potions/elixirs
- guns and ammunition
- matches
- if Yor's needle is laying around anywhere they'll pick that up too
- backpacks for carrying all of the above
How successful are they?]
