GY ENDGAME POST
GRAVEYARD - END GAME
It's been a long stay.
Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.
But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.
Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.
Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.
Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.
[Welcome to the Graveyard's Endgame post! The previous posts for Weeks 2-5 and Weeks 6-7 have been linked above.]

ONE LAST CATHERD FOR THE ROAD, MAYBE
objective: eliminate ferry, prevent ferry from obtaining final crystal
plan of attack:
1. c-ta and rika to lead a team to the cellar of the general store to stock up on weapons and any other materials that would be useful
2. a team of scouts on horseback to keep an eye on the store, try and sus out ferry's location, ideally without her knowing
3. on the off chance that ferry discovers where we are, to get her away from the store so that the raid team has enough time to regroup/redistribute weapons. lead ferry to ice maze area due to discomfort with cold/water, use terrain to advantage with snowballs/ice magic if necessary, long range weapon users to help to attack from afar. Possible use of the pumpkin carriage etc. for further distractions
4. final confrontation at the rift in the geletaria? "then seek comfort in pitch dark" - rift does not respond to physical attacks but magic? ]
... It's a plan that is extremely rough around the edges, but at the very least we have some idea of what to do if we can't attack directly.
Jack and I are probably the fastest on horseback, so if there are any changes in the plan, we will disseminate information accordingly. If anyone has any suggestions to refine this, voice them now and we can incorporate them into the plan of action.
Let Yuuta and Rika know what you need from the cellar so that they can keep a look out, they're the most familiar with it.

[ he nods. ]
If we can take bags from the general store, we'll probably be able to stock up quicker.

Unless ya'd rather we station ourselves near any noncombatants, ta protect them too?

... Admittedly, I know very little about the rift, so I will have to leave that part of the plan to others.
And it will be best to focus our plan going forward on both attack and defense -- above all, we do not want her to get that last crystal.

Yor-san went with us, Raven-san and Morgan-san did too, but they took a different direction where the paths diverged.

[Basically: the ability to blow shit up is still useful no matter what you use it on, but because Jack is Jack he has to turn it into a 20-minute spiel forgive me.]
The advantage of the rift is that it may give us darkness, yes? But take care that it doesn't become a trap.

There's another portal out a ways out from where things diverged. The closer we got to it, our forms started losing their corporeality and a sense of not being able to return from it, so we didn't press any further.

Will this do
Re: items get
... Better than nothing.

I believe that with this our supplying step is complete. Next...
[Well, next comes the murder?]
Scouting party back!!
She's in the palace. Deep inside, I think - Yor and I saw the sparkles outside and leading into the building but I don't think we saw her at all.
[ a pause, and: ] I suspect the palace is one of her strongholds, so we might have to lure her out into the open with the prospects of getting the last crystal, even if we have no intention of handing it over to her.

Therefore, letting her know the location of the crystal in any way should, I feel, be one of our last resorts as well.

Thus, we may need to prepare to fight her at the palace as needed; if we could lure her out in the process, that would be ideal; but perhaps our first priority should be testing some of her weaknesses.
Should we enter the palace with that in mind?
