GY ENDGAME POST

GRAVEYARD - END GAME

It's been a long stay.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.

But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.

Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.

Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.

Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.

[Welcome to the Graveyard's Endgame post! The previous posts for Weeks 2-5 and Weeks 6-7 have been linked above.]

At this point, given the state of the shop, we should try to get our hands on anything we can find. Even if Ferry is immune to fire magic, the things around her are not; the more explosive firepower we have, the better we may be able to manipulate that.

[Basically: the ability to blow shit up is still useful no matter what you use it on, but because Jack is Jack he has to turn it into a 20-minute spiel forgive me.]

The advantage of the rift is that it may give us darkness, yes? But take care that it doesn't become a trap.

It'll definitely become a trap. But if she really does hate B as much as she said she did, then maybe we can trap her with us. It might give us the opening we need to run away.

I think my question then is... we have two options at the moment, since we do not have a route to the living: defeat her, or continue running until we have an escape route.

Do we have any possibility of securing an escape route from this side, or must we still wait for those on the living side?

No clue.

[ thanks for nothing c-ta. ]

I think we're gonna have to wait for the living. However, one or two of us may have to be stationed at the rifts in case the situation changes so that we can make it out of there as soon as we can. Even if that overgrown worm gets out there, we might have a better chance of defeating her if we're all together.

Then I think our priority is weakening the monster and finding out what may be used against her, as well as her potential plans -- we know she wants to kill B (the Beldam, was it?), but is that why she wanted to try to break through to the other side?

Hmmm.

Also, our key locations currently appear to be the palace, where Ferry is stationed; the rifts at the gelateria; and the ice maze. These are three separate areas, but I do not want to spread our forces too thin -- and we also want to think about protecting the crystal.

I would suggest focusing upon defending the crystal and dealing with the palace, and worry about the rifts and the ice maze once we have a better grasp on how to do those first two things.

If we want to whittle her down, then we're either going to have to go fight her or do something big enough to cause her damage. If she's at the palace, then there has to be a reason for it.

[ therefore-- ]

We either need to destroy it or taunt her in order to get her out of there.

Let us see the state of the palace first, and whether she's prepared any kind of welcome for us there -- it is a strange location to choose as a home base, though I know that the execution chamber itself is there, and there may be other important reasons to lure us there.

We will need more information before we move elsewhere.

That's true. I'll help set up bombs just in case, but we'll all have to make a quick escape if it comes to that.

[ Speaking of that... ]

Maybe? If only we knew how Ferry got our letters to the other side.

I did try asking her, as she is the only one here currently who may be able to make it to the other side. We still do not know how... but she said that we don't have bodies.

We've discussed it before, but doll bodies might be better than nothing, in the end.

If it comes down to it, and if we can find those bodies again, we may want to keep them in mind for whatever escape we will be making.

Could the crystal be the key? If it's in the rift, perhaps it would finish "rippin'" a hole into the other side. The monster has been takin' the power from the crystals for itself, so maybe that's what the power lets it accomplish.

It may be that we only need to break the crystal for that, so taking the crystal to the rift may be one of our courses of action. Investigating that and the doll bodies...

[Maybe Lucifer group could do that at some point? While everyone else tries to poke a caterpillar... who knows.]
