GY ENDGAME POST

GRAVEYARD - END GAME

It's been a long stay.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.

But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.

Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.

Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.

Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.

[Welcome to the Graveyard's Endgame post! The previous posts for Weeks 2-5 and Weeks 6-7 have been linked above.]

[ going to corral the horses somewhere and make sure that the horses aren't spooked before he, too, collapses on the floor, because boss fights??? he's at least 60% stamina drained and was pretty much going off on adrenaline. ]

I'm almost relieved we don't have to deal with the Beldam.

[ go for it living u got this ]

[Jack may actually literally be in danger of nodding off soon so like. How are they both awake at this point. He starts up a little and then flops back again sheepishly.]

I am quite relieved -- I dare not imagine how we would have dealt with her after this.

[....... honestly they probably would have just tried to stab everything or set it on fire, but that's the graveyard for you. Arson is our sunniest trait, clearly.]

[ he's also on the verge of passing out so uh. falling asleep on jack's shoulder again like old times??? laughs. ]

We invested quite a large amount of our resources into stalling Ferry and also on that barrier, so I daresay we would be quite under-equipped to deal with her...

[ but then again? thread? kindling? maybe arson would have worked???? ]

... Ah, do they have... abilities back?

[ watching idly through the rift ]

[Trying to stay awake!! Attempts are being made but maybe old times. What was that, like two centuries ago?? Time is truly fake in Aira Niluc.]

Well, you say that, but we still have more resources than we thought we would! And although we're quite worn down, I'm rather surprised that we're all in one piece.

There are some benefits to the void...?

[Eh, no need to look a gift void horse in the mouth. He seems amused as he contemplates the Beldam. More arson??]

Ahh, I'm envious. It would be so much less tiring.

[ extremely tired laughter. hanging onto wakefulness by a thread (ha) and yes, time is truly fake. how long have they been in the rift, anyway, it's not like anyone has a pocket watch to check the time. ]

Ah, well. It probably wouldn't make a difference to me, but it might to you? Something about a Chain?

[ he remembers that much at least! ]

[Really is like threading the eye of a needle trying to stay conscious at the moment! He's had plenty of practice but it's oddly comfortable here despite the truly ludicrous amount of drama and mess that's happened in merely a week.

Or maybe because of it?? He misses his pocketwatch.....]

Hmmm. Maybe not. The use of a Chain is dependent upon something to do with my original body, which may not be in this realm after all... [a hum and he opens an eye to look at Moriarty; oops, closed 'em for a minute there] It wouldn't make a difference with you?

[ let's be real this is basically the longest week ever, these two days alone have felt like months??? ]

Ah.

[ let's just pretend he's lucid enough to understand the bodyswap talk. ]

No hidden powers, I'm afraid. [ a wry smile. ] Terribly mundane, I know, but what you see is what you get.

[ the only skills he has are that he learned how to kill a man from jack the ripper, and that counts for something, probably. ]
heroicact: (¿qué the fuck?)

[It's fine, even Jack is not lucid enough to deal with bodyswap talk after the past two day-years; so they can just. Dispense with that and move on!]

... And yet you have a handful of extra deaths? Is that... considered terribly mundane where you come from??

[The extra question marks are audible, my man, you succeeded in waking him up a little. Just a tad.]
