GRAVEYARD - END GAME

It's been a long stay.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.

But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.

Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.

Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.

Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.

Well, you see...

[ he crosses his arms, sighing ]

I saw that in her catalogue there's this pixie dust. Turns out she was using real fairies for it! Isn't that a little fucked up, Riku? Hey, Nageki, you still have that bottle, right?

[ Oh, he sees where he's getting at. It takes him a few seconds to go through his bag for the dust, since clearly it's not a priority to take out at a moment's notice. ]

Yes, right here. Pixie dust, straight from the source.

[ he gives the bottle a little shake, eyeing it pitifully. ]

I mean, it's a bit sad, isn't it? She has dozens and dozens of these in her cellar. I wonder if she'll turn any of you into goods next...no one's safe from her.

[ He nods along, commiserating. ]

She certainly doesn't hesitate to use others for goods. You know how much of things important to us were used as commodities, right?

Yeesh, what a fraud of a shopkeeper. All she cares about is herself, and she'll take this entire place down. In other words, you're all in danger too, you know?

Real fairies?!

[ Riku's eyes are so wide. Wow, what a shocking development. ]

That's really messed up! If I were a fairy, I wouldn't want to help anyone who does that! I bet she does it when she's bored... She doesn't have any issues using people for her own gain, right? Even totally innocent people, who just wanna save their friends and family!

Ah, well she wants to kill these fairies' creator... so that's even more messed up. She kills them and now their mother. Phew, she really is the worst of the worst!

Yeah, I heard that too! That kind of thing's got to be unforgiveable, right...? A parent who treats their kids well doesn't deserve that! If they love their mother, they can't accept it, right?

I wouldn't either. But hey, maybe these flies know that Ferry is way out of their league and just gave up. So maybe they are the defective ones....

[There's a bit of quiet observation as they listen in on the conversation here, but in contrast to the usual raucousness, they just seem unusually... blank here?

All they do is stare them down with dozens of black, beady eyes.]

[ he looks up, feigning surprise. ] Oh, sorry. Are we disturbing you?

[Strangely enough, they're actually completely quiet at this point as they sit there, stock still and observing with those expressionless faces. It's almost as if they truly have turned into harmless puppets, if not for the way those eyes seem to follow their every movement.

Beyond that, it also seems that in the meanwhile, more of them have settled down to watch, and watch, and watch.]

[ this is...unnerving.

okay, he'll stare back. ]

[Also joining the staring at fairies. He's very good at staring.]

[They won't do anything if all they do is stare back.

But they're watching.]

[ he will steal the memo from suga for a moment just to write "they're spiders" on it.

after that, he looks up at the fairies, arms crossed. ]

Are you going to go tell her then? She's probably making her way to your maker right now. What will happen if she kills her? Are you all going to drop dead like flies? Then, maybe she'll turn you all into dust and use it to become the ruler of this place. Who knows? But you're wasting time here.

Someone who uses others for their own gain... that's not right at all! Even if it's someone who says they're your friend, or your family--how can you keep working with them? I wouldn't want to do anything like that! And I wouldn't want my own family to get hurt because of me!
