It's been a long stay.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.

But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.

Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.

Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.

Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.

[There's a few blinks here before they smile back sweetly.]

Oh, well if that's all it is, then I don't mind at all! But are you sure you won't regret asking?

Okay! [They make a bashful expression.] But you know, I don't really like showing people this, so do you mind if I change in the back room instead? I'll come right out after.

[They just grin back at Samidare and flit over to the back door that's been left ajar, slipping easily between the small crack there. There's silence for about a minute, and then--]

[The door itself flies forward off its hinges as some monstrous... thing slams its way through the doorframe, leaving splintered wood in its wake as it plows forward. There's not much time to react considering there's a door literally flying into whoever's unlucky enough to be standing in its trajectory, but when the metaphorical dust settles, what they'll see is this: a giant, caterpillar-like creature with about ten arms and spikes jutting out of it. The butterfly wings protruding from its back are like a parody of fairies' wings, oddly delicate in comparison to the rest of its appearance. And with its face stretched in a parody of a grin, a deep, distorted voice rings out, sounding nothing like Ferry.]

Well, are you satisfied now? Because I do hope you enjoy this sight, considering it'll be the last one you'll see.

[laytorest]

[Yor immediately reacts, going to grab Samidare and throw an iron knife blade at Ferry's head before she begins to sprint, intent on getting Samidare out of there.]

[ c-ta will let himself get pulled away by moriarty since he’s closest, tugging suga along with him, but from the look on his face he’s probably too shocked to… do anything else but run. and that’s only because someone’s already doing half the job.

There’s a horse outside, take the ones who can’t fight and go!

[Says Jack, who really could use that horse about now, but honestly the horse would probably just become. Uh. Spider chow?? Something?? He looks a little frazzled, but hardly surprised; his sword is in his hand at the moment.

Those who get out to the horse will also find a whole-ass scythe lashed to it, in case you need like, a horseback weapon.

Once most people are out of immediate range, he’ll light and toss a salmiakki fish in Ferry’s(???) face, before gunning for the door, pulling down racks of merchandise as he goes to slow her advance.]

[ He's so tired of all this betrayal. Part of him just wants to stop now, but at the very least he wants to get everybirdie else out. So instead he'll take out one of his explosives. ]

I did want to believe in you, Ferry...

[ Despite everything, he refuses to drag the others down with him. Once no one else is in range, he'll set off the bombs after the salmiakki fish in hopes of at least slowing them down a little. He never learned more about explosives to fight anyway. ]

[ absolutely helping birb son set off those bombs before they both are running like hell???? ]

[ As much as he wants to stay and fight, he has to concede it's better to flee.

It's a shame there's only one door to the shop and no windows. He files out quickly and makes for the desert! ]

[There's just a very loud laugh as the blade comes flying at her but like, there's no pursuit so this is a good thing, probably??]

[Rika grimaces, a bit stunned at the strange transformation. She hates bugs.]

Ghh—if you’re gonna kill me, at least tell me what for—-was your plan to kill B and take the souls for yourself?

[ Sorry kid, you're getting grabbed, flung over one shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and dragged out. ]

[Yeah, looks like Rika’s not gonna get to drag a villain monologue out of Ferry (?) just yet while Norton’s carrying her off.

She really did not think about how death by caterpillar might be permanent.]

[Ferry just turns her grin in Rika's direction, tilting their head to the side in a parody of confusion.]

My, don't we have a stupid one here. Are you truly so curious that you would sooner ask than flee? If that's the case, then I don't mind obliging you once you're already dead!

[And there's a swipe of one of those arms, right at Rika's face. If that misses, well. There goes one of the store shelves.]

[With the timing of Norton carrying her off, Rika manages to avoid having her face smacked off. Ok! So much for getting to talk to her killer! Everyone else who killed her was never this rude!!]
