GRAVEYARD - END GAME

It's been a long stay.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the gates to Aira Niluc were opened to guests of various worlds, and for seven weeks a game of trust and betrayal have whittled the living's numbers down until only a mere third remained on that side. And in exchange, the population of the dead grew as they continued their story on this side.

But the story is coming to a close, almost as if the world itself demands it.

Because sometime Friday morning, oddities start to become apparent within the fabric of this space: buildings starting to deteriorate as their colors start to fade, foods beginning to molder and rot, trees and mountains far in the background flickering briefly show sketch-like outlines before reverting back to normal. While most of the main locations remain fairly intact, there is no area on this side that lays untouched by the sense that this place is starting to unravel, bit-by-bit.

Still, the walls that separate you all from the living hold fast even now, not allowing any of the dead to cross through into the other side.

Perhaps that's not the point here, though. After all, you all still have your own ending to write, here and now.

Does that mean you know where they'll be?

Not right now, but... I can snoop around on the other side and see where they've gone. Once I get an idea of where they are, I'll come back here to the stump and set things up for everyone.

Isn't that dangerous? What if the monster or some of the other fairies catch you doing that?

Of course it is! But this place is already crumbling anyways, isn't it? It's not like I like throwing myself in danger, but it's better than sitting around and doing nothing!

I feel the same... Sorry I wasn't able to salvage the situation, Ferry.

A group of us were talking about trying to replace the crystal and its purpose. Could you tell us more details about what we were going to do with the last one? Maybe we can come up with a substitute with what's left here before it's too late.

Mmm... I'm sure you tried your best, I guess.

[They look disappointed still, but an attempt was made.]

Well, it's not so much that you can replace it. The magic needs to be removed from the crystal so the seal breaks. You can't really do anything without it.

Sorry, we didn't split up correctly, and most of the others paid the price for it.

[ He certainly wasn't much help there. ]

I was thinking more like...it should be in the area. We did solve some of the puzzles before we had to retreat, so maybe that's enough to try to siphon it using another method?

[ But that's just a suggestion. ]

Either way, I suppose it's a moot point unless we can break the seal.

Mmm, I didn't expect you guys to have so much trouble after you succeeded the other times too.

[A small sigh.]

I can't really do it unless I get close enough to it, though. After all, if I could do that, I wouldn't really have needed to ask for everyone to help.

Is that safe? Didn't you say that monster is really powerful?

No, but I don't really have a choice, do I? It's not like you guys can do much right now.

But those on the other side can do more?

Well, they actually have physical bodies. But if you've died in the game, only your soul is tethered here, and it's harder to fight them that way.

... You mentioned something about getting our bodies back, when we first came over to this side. How would that have worked?

[There's a pause here.]

Well, I was going to find your old bodies and patch them up with magic! Then you could just return back inside them and you'd have a physical form again.

[ ... hm. pause is maybe slightly sus. ]

... So did you manage to locate our bodies?

[ since the last that he heard from the morgan infodump they were supposedly crystals, so there's some >doubt here ]

Well, of course! I wouldn't offer if I couldn't find them anyway.

And where are they?

[ you can't expect him not to ask, with an answer like that? ]

I know you said not to, but I went in anyways. I mean, everyone’s been risking their life here, trying to get those crystals. [ he sighs. not including yor or rika’s involvement, just in case. ] I came up to this terrifying place…

Ugh... well, you're safe so it's fine, I suppose.

[That's said really reluctantly but!!! They seem interested what C-ta has to say, though.]

A terrifying place...? Like what?

It was a really ornate door. But on the way there it was covered in cobwebs and you really couldn’t see much.

And? Did you go inside?

I did, actually. Found some pretty cool stuff. There were some documents on fairies, a bunch of sewing material, and even doll replicas of all of us.

[Their brows furrow.]

Documents on fairies...? Why would they have that lying around?
