GRAVEYARD PT. II

GRAVEYARD

The world is black. And then you blink at your plate.

A portion of your favorite dish greets your eyes, albeit in a form you may never have seen it in before. Encased in a thick, wobbling layer of multi-colored gelatin, the food you know and love now sits suspended in its protein-based enclosure as an eccentric re-imagining of the dish. Furthermore, it only takes a glance to see that the rest of the dining table's spread shares this same theme, as every single dish, sweet or savory, finds itself victim to a jiggling Jell-o jail.

Still, you won't have much time to take this all in before a quiet, high-pitched giggling makes its way to your ears, only crescendoing in volume the longer you sit in this oh-so-familiar dining room. It doesn't take much to find the source of the sound either; unlike the other side, this place is absolutely teeming with fairies to the point where the fluttering of their iridescent wings is clearly audible behind the din of their laughter. As you come to your senses, dozens and dozens of beady eyes watch with their tiny faces stretched out in a wide grin, before speaking in unison.

"Welcome, we can't wait to serve you!"

As the fairies erupt in raucous laughter all around you, at least one more thing is readily apparent: however you met your end, your body is completely whole again. You also have company at the table with you, although whether it's desirable company or not may depend on the circumstances surrounding your death.

In any case, there's nothing stopping anyone from leaving the dining room and roaming freely as usual, and most of the same areas that were available to you on the other side are still present here, albeit with some differences. And though your life may have been stolen from you, it still looks like you have a part in this tale, somehow, someway.

So, will you let your story finish here, or will you write your own ending?

I doubt it's ever a really happy occasion to meet in this sort of a place... I wouldn't know, but I don't mind being here now.

[Even, apparently, with everything; he really needs a new set of clothes as well. He seems a little winded, and definitely paler, but that also happened when he had to do jumping jacks and run for 20 minutes, and we're assuming that dying somehow fixed the muscle aches, so...

Maybe he's coming out ahead somewhere??!

But also he looks at Zola curiously for a moment, consideringly -- he hadn't expected her to be quite as bloodthirsty as the others given everything, but she's probably not to be considered entirely an ally either. Interesting.]

Well if I had to choose one of them, I'd choose the one where I'm not trapped in a chair for the rest of my days. We don't know each other all that well, but I'm sure neither of us are all that weak to a few dirty looks?

[Seriously, such is the life of nobility. Along with the murder, apparently.]

That's true -- but it doesn't matter anyway. They'll get over it. I don't know if it's because they're sappy, or if they do understand working together to get out is fine because if we get out we're not going to see each other ever again, but as long as you don't go repeating over and over you're with Hamelin they'll get over it.

[They always do. It's mindboggling, but frankly she can't complain about it. Ever since Samidare was willing to let bygones be bygones she has at least learned to appreciate how people aren't holding their actions over their heads all the time.

Well, although with Jack it'll take longer. Zola can't really be upset about it because really, she knows fully well she wouldn't have hesitated to align herself with Hamelin if the chance arose. Zola has enough self-awareness to know that]

Fine then, setting you free it'll be. Let's see here...

[She gives a glance at the ropes and then at the table with jello. Nodding to herself she brings closer the nearest plate of bloodied jello, making sure to leave it in front of Jack, moves him aside and slams the heel of her boot against the plate, shattering it and beating the jello to a pulp. Having done that she smears the globs of jello from her boot on Jack's own heel, and takes a piece of broken plate]

Oh no! Those idiots left the traitor alone and he managed to get his hands onto something he'd cut the ropes with, and he was skillful enough to do so. How careless of them~

[Yeah, just let her saw through these ropes. Won't take more than a few seconds.

Look, they're upset with Jack they're killing him over and over. Her own self-preservation comes first. Even if Jack goes around telling them Zola set him free, she'll deny it and then manipulate them so they find the proof she just fabricated. Less hassle if she doesn't have them on her ass for undoing the pointless endeavor of leaving Jack tied for more murdering]
