GRAVEYARD

The world is black. And then you blink at your plate.

A portion of your favorite dish greets your eyes, albeit in a form you may never have seen it in before. Encased in a thick, wobbling layer of multi-colored gelatin, the food you know and love now sits suspended in its protein-based enclosure as an eccentric re-imagining of the dish. Furthermore, it only takes a glance to see that the rest of the dining table's spread shares this same theme, as every single dish, sweet or savory, finds itself victim to a jiggling Jell-o jail.

Still, you won't have much time to take this all in before a quiet, high-pitched giggling makes its way to your ears, only crescendoing in volume the longer you sit in this oh-so-familiar dining room. It doesn't take much to find the source of the sound either; unlike the other side, this place is absolutely teeming with fairies to the point where the fluttering of their iridescent wings is clearly audible behind the din of their laughter. As you come to your senses, dozens and dozens of beady eyes watch with their tiny faces stretched out in a wide grin, before speaking in unison.

"Welcome, we can't wait to serve you!"

As the fairies erupt in raucous laughter all around you, at least one more thing is readily apparent: however you met your end, your body is completely whole again. You also have company at the table with you, although whether it's desirable company or not may depend on the circumstances surrounding your death.

In any case, there's nothing stopping anyone from leaving the dining room and roaming freely as usual, and most of the same areas that were available to you on the other side are still present here, albeit with some differences. And though your life may have been stolen from you, it still looks like you have a part in this tale, somehow, someway.

So, will you let your story finish here, or will you write your own ending?

[Did anyone want bones? No? Too bad, we're getting bones that appear to be from a single hand provided by Yor. The forearm bone seems... long? For a human hand. And too many pieces are missing to determine which hand it is.]

I found this at the bottom of a well when C-ta, Riku, Morgan, Raven and I were looking around. It, um...

[Looking around nervously.]

When I used my magnifying glass on it, the fingers... look like needles. I would like to know if Lucifer thinks it resembles the... mirror creature?

...Needles? Like the ones you carry, Miss Yor?

[ he may or may not have a very skewed idea of needles now ]

Like sewing needles!

[So. Kind of yes, actually?]

I'm not sure why they'd look like needles through a magnifying glass... But things around here have been unraveling into cloth?

Then... maybe...

The person with the gnarly hands... sewed everything? Or wait...

She doesn't know either.]

That begs the question of why their hands are here then. Especially considering what we know about crystals.

Maybe someone dropped it in to hide it?

[That's just what you do with bodies.]

I don't know why it would only be one hand, though.

They could be both hiding and trying to keep them separate, maybe...?

Why would they need to keep it separate, though? Is it because the hand has needles?

Hmm, it's like a plot device in stories? Parts of something are broken and scattered across an area to be sealed.

Then... if this is one of its hands, should we... do something about it? Everything else that dies turns into crystals.

I'm not sure. If it would make everyone feel safer, we could surround it with a circle of salt.

Does... salt even work against it?

I don't know. It seems to work against most other creatures here, so at the very least I don't think it hurts to try.

I guess that's a problem we'll have to see when we come to it....?

I have two more bags of salt, so I can spare some to test on it!

I'm more worried that the testing will happen in the middle of a fight or something...

...Like while we're fighting monsters...?

If "everythin' else that dies turns into crystals" but this hand is still here [it's bone, but not crystal, that's "here" in a manner of speaking], perhaps some salt would do it some good. Wouldn't want it ta do somethin' to someone, if it's not fully dead, right?

I do have two bags now, so I could give it a try.

I can't imagine it'd need a full bag, for a precaution. A circle or a dustin' on it might be enough.
